Arc. Bishop Olah Afen denies plans to dump PDP, insists Party is determined to Rescue Cross River State.

PDP Chieftain, Arch. Bishop Olah Afen has denied plans to dump the People's Democratic Party(PDP) ahead of the 2023 general election.

The former Cross River Northern Senatorial district aspirant, disclosed this at his Abuja residence, stating that he has no intention of floating a new political party to challenge the People's Democratic Party(PDP) for power in 2023.

Mr. Olah who stated some of his reasons, said that the PDP is the reason for all that Cross River State has achieved in the past, hence, the state cannot afford to be thrown into a new Political party whose ideologies are centered on "lies and deceit" beyond 2023.

He also pointed out his displeasure over the leadership style of the Governor Ben Ayade led administration and his inability to complete projects after six years in office, which are decipherable in the Superhighway project that has consumed a lot of resources, as well as fusing more hardship to affected citizens, as farm produce, farmlands, residential home and shops were destroyed for an unrealistic project. He further lamented that, as the most mobilized LGA in the Cross River North, the Bekwarra community has been marginalized ranging from "little or no electricity for six years, no good roads, no key or principal appointment for the LGA, no single project commissioned since the inception of the administration, amongst others".

Mr. Olah urged the good people of Cross River State not to be afraid, stating that the PDP is now stronger, working seriously to rescue the state from the current mayhem faced by the citizens. He also added that  the PDP is still Star-studded with both experienced and young minds in the three Senatorial Districts who are determined by the grace of God through the people's prayers, support and cooperation, to rescue the state.

Looking at the 2023 general elections, Mr .Olah stated that he is not in a hurry to make a political statement owing to the fact that the PDP is a stronghold who will always have one voice ranging from the governorship, Senatorial, HoR, State House Of Assembly and all other contestable positions, stating that the party will not also be blind to acknowledge the fact that some LGA in the North are yet to occupy the Senatorial positions when others have Produced more than 2 senators already, which according to him is wrong.

Conclusively, he said politics is all about the people, and begining from his party's Chairmanship Position down to any other individual interest, he will always stand by the people to ensure that the dividends of democracy is taken to the grassroot.
