My Beloved constituents, political allies, supporters, friends and Gentlemen of the Press. I welcome you all to this press conference.
I want to begin by thanking the members of my 2019 Yala 1 state constituency House of Assembly campaign council which was headed by Comr Omgbidu Saviour, indeed you all proved to be ready to change the narrative.
My appreciation also goes to the Cross River State governorship candidate of the SDP Barr Eyo Ekpo, with men like you in the system, we are sure of reaching our desired destination not just as a state but as a nation.
The 2019 elections which was characterised by many disappointments emanating from the political betrayal of some key factors within the SDP which led to the defeat of all of the party's candidates in the election will go down as one of the worst in political history.
It is said that "Experience is the best teacher" and I can say that the lesson has been learnt the hard way.
It is on this note, that I announce my resignation of membership of the Social Democratic Party and my return to the People's Democratic Party.
This decision is one of the hardest I've had to make throughout my political career but I am consoled because I know that I am return back home.
I wish all my political friends turn brothers and sisters in the SDP success in all future endeavors and I pray we all meet at the top.
