A plot to remove the NYCN chairman for Ogoja Comrade Atunishor Aju has been uncovered. The plot is being orchestrated by some high ranking government officials close to the power house of the state.
The desire to remove him is not unconnected with his dedicated commitment to the struggle to ensure that Rt Hon Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe secures the senate slot which is seen as an affront to the establishment and consequently, the need to remove him from office.
Intel report has it that, some youth leaders have been drafted in the plot and mobilized with funds to ensure that they get signatures of Various youth leaders within Ogoja LGA, saying they don’t desire him to lead them again.
Confirming the report, comrade Atunishor Aju sounded optimistic that such a plot is dead on arrival.
“I have heard of it and I know that it is illegal and barbaric for top ranking government officials to be intimidated by my personality to the point of desiring that I be removed from the office”, he said.
It is on record that, the state for now is polarized along the two major divides viz; team Governor and team authentic. In supporting the aspiration of Rt Hon Jarigbe Agom to become a Senator, I have been termed anti government.
According to comrade Aju, “I was duly elected and no one can remove me. It is a sign of cowardice to begin to fight me for supporting a leader I am convicted about his capacity and leadership qualities. There is room for freedom of association and as a youth leader from Ogoja, it is only reasonable to support our own son to aspire to lead us from the senate. If that is my sin, it means we all should be forced into supporting what we don’t even believe. That for me is absurd.”
According to Comrade Atunishor "I have fundamental rights as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to participate in the democratic process. I have a right to question government policies and practices when they are not in the best interest of my people.
Let me also add that I have not used the platform of the NYCN at any given time to campaign for Rt Hon Jarigbe Agom or any politician. But as an individual and a true Ogoja and Bakor son I have campaigned vigorously for him and it is within my rights as an individual and I will do MORE.
I call on those behind this unholy and barbaric plot to desist from it as the consequences for such illegality will be grievous, he added.
Let it also be known to the general public that, they are other NYCN Chapter Coordinators/Chairmen as well as members who are appointees of Governor Benedict Ayade and have been seen pulling their supports for their preferred candidates and that of the Governor.
It's therefore necessary that, those who are plotting the removal of the Ogoja Coordinator should as a matter of urgency, desist from such evil act as I will not hesitate to make public their names as money has been alleged to have exchanged hands.
