PDP STANDS IN SPITE OF GOVERNOR AYADE'S EXIT-Hon. Arc. Ekom A. Akonjom

It came as a disappointment that the Young Governor of Cross River State, His  Excellency,  Prof., Senator Ben Ayade had yesterday 20th May, 2021 taken APC as his future Political Party says Arc. Ekom N. Akonjom.

According to Hon. Arc. Ekom N. Akonjom, PDP Organising Secretary (South South Zone) though the National Leadership of the party had made a press Statement through the National Publicity Secretary, and the National Vice Chairman (South South), Chief Dan Orbi had equally granted a Press Statement about this ugly event. In his statement, Hon. Arc. Ekom N. Akonjom, PDP Organising Secretary (South South Zone) stated.

"History is quite aware that through our(PDP) platform, Ben Ayade  became a Senator and a Governor serving his second term.

I must say that I remain  grateful to Governor Ayade for recognising my ability and  supporting me to serve the Party. However, I remain a true principled party man with a resolute determination and commitmment to even serve better.

I stand true to PDP and look forward to working with every person and all Party men and women now and in the years to come"

Ekom further urged PDP faithfuls to be more courageous and strong at this trying moment, "They should know that by this compromised defection, PDP is definitely unshaken. The party is keenly looking at the legal, social, economic and political implications  of this act, and would do the needful shortly."

"PDP remain the only veritable, reliable and dependable platform for true Democracy in Cross River State and Nigeria.  It is our conviction that Cross River State National Assembly Members, State Assembly Members, Local Government Chairmen and Councillors and the citizens will stay resolute to the true tenets of democracy and uphold the oath of allegiance to the party and respect Cross Riverians that voted for them because of PDP."

In another reaction, a PDP chieftain said, "The PDP remains proud that it sacrificially made him a State and National Figure."

God bless PDP

God bless Cross River State.
