The member representing Ogoja/Yala federal Constituency, Rt.Hon. Jarigbe yesterday consulted the former speaker of the Cross River state House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Mike Ogar Idoko at his Igbiaragidi residence in Bekwara LGA.
Speaking during the consultation, Hon Adida Agabi, Hon Charles Eneji, Hon Emma Lifu and others, hailed the MP for taking the bold step and fighting a good cause.
Tey insisted that having Rt.Hon Jarigbe Agom at the red chambers was a going to be a win-win for the ordinary people as MP Jarigbe is a man with the heart of gold.
Rt.Hon Mike Ogar while receiving MP Jarigbe Agom, stated that, the denial of an Ogoja son the chance to represent the people of Cross River North at the Senate amounts to political wickedness and the show of love as the mother of the North by the Ogoja shouldn't be abused.
He further stated that, "since i discovered that truth is your watchword, i will work with you, I love your fearless spirit, and you do it with decorum, we will perfectly work with you..."
"Bekwarra have seen all the works you have been doing and we will give you higher votes than Ogoja just like we did for Governor Ayade when he ran for senate...We want a representative with a humane face and MP Jarigbe Agom is that man"
Ogar David, the NURTW chairman of Bekwarra decried the marginalizatiom of the organization and others by the ruling class and Rt.Hon. Jarigbe Agom is seen as the hope of organizations such as NURTW and pleaded for the MP to extend his benevolence and car gift to the Bekwarra chapter as he has done to the Yala and Ogoja chapters.
Hon Emmanuel Obogo and other speakers who contributed at the meeting stated that the Bekwarra people just like Ogoja are tired of political marginalization and infrastructural slavery and Rt.Hon Jarigbe Agom is the hope of the common man and they won't relent in giving him their support as their son and a man with provenden track record.
Rt.Hon. Jarigbe Agom in his speech stated that, his services to the Ogoja/Yala people was a fulfillment of his promise to the people and with Bekwarra being his maternal home, he is a son and will not let them down.
"I'm only holding the Ogoja/Yala mandate in trust for the people and I've lived with this at the back of my mind...projects abound across the 24 wards of Ogoja/Yala as proof of my legislative and representative performance and going to the senate will give us the opportunity to do more for Cross River North"
"Bekwarra is my home, I grew up here, I buried my mum here and I've empowered people from here and they're more good things to come when I become senator by God's grace".
MP Jarigbe added that he was a believer of partnerships and Team play who believes that only 'Teams win and individual can not individuals' hence his appeal for collaboration with Rt.Hon. Mike Ogar and the entire Bekwarra nation to consolidate on the gains of late Senator Rose Oko.
